The Junior Miss British Isles 2020/21 Competition Rules are as follows: 

 

Contestants/Finalists

 

  • The judge’s decision is final and correspondences from contestants will not be entered into.

  • Contestants legal gender must be female.

  • Contestants must enter using their legal name as stated on their passport and Birth Certificate.

  • Contestants must be between 9 and 12 years old on 26/9/20

  • Contestants must have the right to work in the UK.

  • Contestants are permitted to wear hair extensions and/or hairpieces. 

  • All contestants in Junior Miss British Isles should keep make up minimal & natural and false eye lashes are not permitted during the final and during photos to promote their involvement prior to the event.

  • Guys are not permitted into the girls changing rooms under any circumstances. 

  • Finalists MUST be accompanied by a parent at all times during the event.

  • Finalists are not permitted to take any time off school to take part in the event or to travel to and from the event.

  • Contestant must not have a criminal record or have anything in their background that could bring the contest or its sponsors into disrepute. 

  • Contestants must not at any time have been involved in any illegal activities or use of drugs of any nature.

  • All contestants are to behave in a fit and proper manner at all times. Any contestant and/or family member, sponsor or guest showing less than sportsman like behaviour will lead to the disqualification of the contestant. Any contestant and/or family member or guest who attacks or posts negative comments about any other contestant or the organisers of the competition online will lead to the disqualification of the contestant. No refund will be given under these circumstances.

  • Any contestant that through their actions brings the competition into disrepute or by their actions uses the Junior Miss British Isles or Miss British Isles name without permission or passes off the Miss British Isles name or anything similar as their own or damages the name of the Miss British Isles competition will be disqualified. No refund will be given under these circumstances.

  • All contestants understand and agree that the Miss British Isles or Junior Miss British Isles title or any similar variation must not be used without the organisers consent.

  • All contestants in Junior Miss British Isles must not be photographed in any type of swimwear or unsuitable clothing in any photograph to promote the event or when using the Junior Miss British Isles sash, name or hashtag.

  • All contestants in Junior Miss British Isles should mention on their social media that they are a finalist using the wording, Finalist – Junior Miss British Isles 2020 @jnrmbi and #juniormissbritishisles and also post a photograph of themselves wearing their official sash.

  • All finalists get a professional portfolio studio shoot with all images free of charge from our sponsors. These photos MUST be posted on the finalist’s social media pages and tags and credits must be given to relevant Miss British Isles social media pages and the sponsors social media pages.

  • Where contestants are offered a direct entry place in the National Final and opt for the 2 payment option, then if the second payment is more than 14 days late then they will not be permitted to take part in the National Final. They will be transferred to the semi-final provided that there is still one available. If no semi-final is available then they will lose their place in the event.

  • Contestants or their family must not be involved in the running, assisting, organising, promotion, fundraising or management of any other modelling competition or Pageant, without advanced written permission from the competition organisers.

  • Contestants are not permitted to take part in the National Final if they are the current title holder of another Pageant or Modelling Competition and have not yet handed over the title, without advanced written permission from the competition organisers.

  • Contestants must not have a verbal or written contract with any agency, manager / management company or other model competition/pageant organiser that forbids them to work with The Miss British Isles Organisation should they become the titleholder.

  • Contestants will permit The Miss British Isles Organisation and their licensees the right to use contestant’s photographs for publicity purposes in connection with all Miss British Isles competitions.

  • All contestants must be present at the rehearsals on the day of the competition. Contestants will forfeit their participation in the event of absenteeism.

  • All prizes won by contestants are strictly non-exchangeable or transferable. The Miss British Isles Organisation reserves the right to amend and replace competition prizes without prior notice with a prize of similar value. 

  • All fees paid for and to The Miss British Isles Organisation are not refundable and not transferrable in full or in part for under any circumstances. This includes, but is not limited to entry fees, advertising fees, sponsorship, tickets, guest meal fees and any other fees paid to the organisers of the event by anyone including, but not limited to, contestants, sponsors, guests and advertisers.

  • Contestants must ensure that the information given on the entry is true and factual and the photographs used for entry are recent and of a clear likeness to their current look. Contestants found to have given false personal information or clearly out of date photos will be removed from the competition. The organisers have the right to replace these contestants and no refund will be given. 

  • Finalists and their family must make their own travel arrangements. The Miss British Isles Organisation is not responsible for arranging travel or intervening / resolving disputes involving travel to the competition.

  • That the date/venue of the final or any part of the event is subject to change and in such a case, the entrant is not eligible for a refund.

  • The Miss British Isles Organisation are not responsible for negligence, fraud or failure to deliver on the art of the competition sponsors, judges, photographers, or the hotel who may be providing products, prizes or services to contestants

  • The Miss British Isles Organisation or any of its employees shall not be held liable for any mishaps, accidents, injuries or loss of property that may arise during the competition.

  • The Miss British Isles Organisation are not responsible for my personal belongings during the event and agree to give all valuables such as money, jewellery and phone to a friend or family member for safe keeping.

 

The winner must meet and adhere to the following rules and regulations in order to hold the Junior Miss British Isles title and claim/retain the prizes. 

The National winner will be required to confirm that she meets the rules of the contest and provide proof of age in the form of an original birth certificate or passport.  

 

  • The winner of Junior Miss British Isles must not be photographed in any type of swimwear or unsuitable clothing in any photograph when using the title or when using the Junior Miss British Isles sash, name or hashtag.

  • The winner also confirms that she will not give any written, verbal or photographic endorsements commercially as Junior Miss British Isles without the written permission of The Miss British Isles Organisation.  

  • The National winner must not enter any other modelling competitions or pageants until she hands over the Junior Miss British Isles title without the written permission of The Miss British Isles Organisation. 

  • The prize will be paid in 2 payments during the title year

  • All prizes won by the winner must be collected / taken and are strictly non-exchangeable or transferable. The Miss British Isles Organisation reserve the right to amend and replace competition prizes without prior notice with a prize of similar value.

  • The National winner agrees to have photographs taken on the day of the National Final. These photographs may also be published on the Miss British Isles websites, social media and the press.
